Patients' Trust Fund
Abbey Medical Practice
Patients’ Trust Fund is a registered charity (No. 1089723) whose aim is
to help relieve sickness and facilitate treatment by purchasing items of
medical equipment for use by the Practice in the care of patients.
Recent purchases made by the Trust include:
• Two hydraulic treatment couches,
which are adjustable for height and positioning thus allowing
elderly or disabled patients to be comfortable and retain dignity
during examinations and treatment.
• A replacement spirometer, allowing lung function to be assessed in
the surgery.
• A pulse oximeter, which measures the level of oxygen in the
bloodstream and is used in the assessment and treatment of patients
with respiratory disease.
The Trust has plans to purchase a
second spirometer in the near future, thus allowing more patients to be
assessed in the surgery and offering increased convenience.
The Practice is extremely grateful to all those who have made donations
in the past, as this has helped us to develop services, increase the
range of treatments that we can provide and improve the standard of care
we offer.
If you would like to know more about the work of the Trust Fund, please
contact Richard Allen, Business Manager, for more information.
Please note that the Trust Fund is a separate entity to the Patient
Participation Group.
