About Us.

 

We are situated in the heart of Evesham with a patient population of 9,900. We believe that all patients deserve the best possible treatment - and that every member of our practice team has the power to make a difference, every single day. We believe in bringing care to those who need it most.

  • Dr Scott Perkins

    BSc MB ChB MRCS MRCGP (Manchester 1997) - GP Partner

    Dr Perkins has worked in General practice since 2008 and commenced his medical career as a orthopaedic surgeon in a large Manchester hospital. He has specialist knowledge and skills in musculoskeletal medicine and minor surgery.

    He is our Lead GP for respiratory and musculoskeletal medicine and is also Joint Lead GP for palliative care with Dr Julia Lloyd.

  • Dr Elizabeth Forman

    MB ChB MRCGP DCH (Sheffield 2007) - GP Partner

    Dr Forman has worked at Abbey Medical Practice since 2015 she was a salaried GP until 2019 when she became a Partner here. Dr Forman has a special interest in Paediatrics and is the Practice’s lead GP for Safeguarding Children.

  • Dr Sarah Griffiths

    MBBS MRCGP (London 1998) - Salaried GP

    Dr Griffiths started here as a locum doctor, but she is now a salaried GP and now works on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every week. Dr Griffiths has a special interest in respiratory medicine Women's Health and Family Planning.

  • Dr Martin Guichard-Wheatley

    MBCHB, MRCGP - Salaried GP

    Dr Wheatley joined the practice in September 2021, He completed his medical and GP training in Leicester and is pursuing an interest in ear, nose & throat issues.

Nursing Team

 

Our experienced team work closely with our GPs and other members of the Practice team to deliver a comprehensive and caring service to our patients.  Whilst they each have individual specialities, they are all involved in Chronic Disease Clinics and are available to offer help and advice on a wide range of health topics including minor ailments and injuries, wound and leg ulcer care, children’s immunisations, travel health and vaccinations, contraception and   sexual health, ear irrigation and health promotion.

In addition, our trained and experienced Healthcare Assistants are available for blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, ECG tracings, simple dressings and NHS Health Checks.  They also assist with minor surgery, administer flu and vitamin B12 injections and offer appointments for coronary vascular disease screening and assessment.

    Nicky Woodward has taken on the role of Deputy Practice Manager from March 2020, and is the Practice lead for Health and Safety. She supports our Business Manager in the day to day running of the practice.

    Mary started with us in January 2022, She has been working with the NHS for 18 years and has a Medical Secretary background.

    Anne joined us in September 2016. One of Anne's main responsibilities is the summary of patient records which she does alongside other admin duties.

    Jo joined the practice in 2001 as a receptionist. She has recently taken up the role of summariser .

    Becky joined the practice in 2017 as a receptionist. She has recently taken up the role of administrator in our admin department.

Dispensary Team

 

Our dispensers are able to take requests for repeat prescriptions over the counter, via our online system or over the phone between 10am - 12noon and 3pm - 4pm. They can also dispense medicines to patients who live outside Evesham town centre and more than 1 mile from their nearest pharmacy. Any local requests can be sent electronically to a Pharmacy of the patient’s choice.

They can help with any queries patients may have in respect of their medication or refer them to the Surgery Pharmacist. They also have a free delivery service for our dispensing patients who find it impossible to collect their medication from the practice.  Please inform the dispensary staff if you would like to sign up for this service.

Reception Team

 

The reception team are there to assist you in making appointments and dealing with queries you may have. They are trained to be able to provide the correct time allocation for your appointment. Their role can be very demanding, however they are always willing to assist you.
